I’m back, baby!

When Life Derails Your Fitness Journey

I had nearly 60 days of not working out, barely stretching, and letting my nutrition slide. Work got crazy—my biggest client got bought out, which threw everything into chaos. I’m not making excuses; I’m just being real. This is exactly what I talk about on this site: fitness is a lifestyle, not a sprint, and sometimes life gets derailed.

The Last Hurrah (Before Getting Back on Track)

Last night, I had one final blowout dinner with friends. Chicken parm, pasta, dessert cookies, sampled four different bottles of Scotch, an after-dinner rum, and two bourbons. I cleansed my palate with sourdough bread. Yeah, that was my last hurrah. Time to get serious again.

My Normal Routine: Simple, Consistent, Sustainable

Here’s what getting back on track looks like for me:

Morning:

  • 9:00 AM: Vega One protein shake with hemp hearts
  • 11:00 AM: Second shake

Afternoon:

  • 1:00 PM: Protein snack with fruit (usually nuts and dried apricots or raisins)
  • 4:30 PM: Dinner

Evening Workout:

  • 5:30 or 6:30 PM: About an hour of training
  • Post-workout: Vega One Sport Berry recovery shake

This isn’t complicated. It’s just consistent habits that keep me moving forward.

Accountability Keeps You Honest

I’m updating this blog as I get back into my routine because accountability matters. Whether you’re 50, 60, or beyond, the key isn’t perfection—it’s showing up even after you’ve fallen off track. That’s the lifestyle approach that actually works.

Stay tuned. I’ll be sharing my progress here regularly.

Let’s keep each other accountable. What’s your biggest challenge getting back on track? Drop a comment below.

Weekly Measurement Check-In

Every week, I’ll update this space with my measurements—weight, waist, and the other numbers that tell the real story of getting back on track. This isn’t about perfection; it’s about consistency and transparency.

If you’re in a similar spot—fallen off track and trying to rebuild momentum—you don’t have to go it alone.

Want to follow my weekly progress? Sign up below and I’ll send you an email each time I post new measurements. No spam, no sales pitches—just real accountability from one guy over 50 to another. Send me your name and email and I will keep you in the loop.

Sometimes just knowing someone else is in the trenches with you makes all the difference.
