Up a tenth of a pound.
And here’s the important part:
I don’t care. (Ok, honestly, I do a little.)
This is exactly why most men quit short pushes like this. The scale doesn’t move perfectly in a straight line, and suddenly it feels like it’s not working. In my original journey from 240 to 180 I noticed this fluctuation. I know it happens. I will accept it.
One-tenth of a pound is noise.
What matters is behavior.
And behavior has been locked in.
- Protein high.
- Sugar zero.
- Carbs reduced.
- Lifting happening.
- Steps consistent.
- Water intake strong.
That’s what moves the needle.
What I’m Feeling (This Matters More Than the Scale)
In just a couple of days, I’m already noticing some things.
My stomach feels tighter and stronger. Not smaller necessarily — just more engaged.
My glutes and hamstrings are sore, because I’ve been concentrating on lower body work to prep for Disney walking. If you’ve ever done Disney, you know it’s basically an endurance event. I want my legs ready.
And here’s a big one:
My back pain is actually a little better.
Not gone. But better.
Why?
Because I’m moving more.
When I’m working out, I’m pushing through the back discomfort — not recklessly, but intentionally. I know I’m not damaging anything. I’m just teaching my body that it doesn’t need to sound the alarm every time I move.
Movement lubricates everything.
The joints stay active.
The muscles stay engaged.
The vertebrae in my back get a chance to decompress instead of being compressed from sitting.
The body responds to what you teach it.
Right now, I’m teaching it:
“We move. We don’t freeze.”
What’s Actually Happening
When you tighten carbs, your body drops stored glycogen — and glycogen holds water.
So early drops are often water.
Then things level out.
Then real fat loss starts showing up if you stay consistent.
This is the phase where discipline matters most.
Not when the scale drops fast.
When it stalls or bumps.
That’s where most guys fold.
Not happening here.
10 Days to Go
Is 190 aggressive?
Yes.
Is it possible?
Maybe.
But here’s the real win:
- I feel stronger through my core.
- My legs are waking up.
- My back feels looser with more movement.
- My discipline is locked in.
I’m not drifting into vacation.
I’m arriving on purpose.
Tomorrow we check again.
Discipline over drama.
