197.7 again.

No drama. No celebration. No frustration.

Just data.

Today is a rest day. And rest days are part of the plan — not a break from it.

🧠 Rest Is Strategic, Not Soft

Nutrition was simple:

  • Two protein shakes
  • 8 ounces of flounder

I’ll review total protein tonight and decide if I need a little more before bed.

No “reward” meal because it’s a rest day.
No emotional eating because the scale hasn’t moved.
Just steady execution.

That’s the shift that matters.

A single weigh-in doesn’t define progress.

Execution does.

🔁 What Today Was Really About

Today was about:

  • Letting joints recover
  • Letting the nervous system reset
  • Keeping protein high
  • Staying in control

We get back to training tomorrow. And that’s the point.

Rest days aren’t off days. They’re strategic.

If I want to walk 25,000 steps through Disney without feeling like I need a scooter by 3 p.m., I don’t need to train harder every single day.

I need to train smart.

Lift with intent.
Eat with purpose.
Recover like it matters.

📉 The Scale Isn’t the Boss

The scale hasn’t moved. Truly, I was hoping for more movement, to be closer to 190, but it is what it is. No bippity-boppity-boop and 190!

But discipline hasn’t slipped either.

Three days left in this 13-day push.

We stay the course.

No panic.
No extremes.
No crash dieting.

Just protein, consistency, and showing up again tomorrow.

That’s how men over 50 do this right.
